TATA is buying Jaguar and Landrover i hope not as it will all of its fans and customers.
Britain supplied India with a lot of refurbished machine tools in the 20thC building up their heavy industry, now they own the UK car industry, hopefully they can return the favour and use the UKs engineers and resources to benefit both countries.
The UK car industry was crippled by management and bean counters not willing to take risks with new ideas and think long term.

I wonder if this vehicle or Tata motors will ever make it to the US. The Nano can compete with the Smart for Two which has recently gone on sale here in America.
US is selling Gasoline Brands like Jaguar and LandRover, because Electric cars use Zero Gas! Ford is coming out with two models in 2009, and so is Chevy, and so is Honda!
When Oil reaches 200$, US will sell Oil to the world!

NOT ROCKET SCIENCE……My 3 cylinder 1000cc/1 liter 5 speed Geo Metro 4 door with ice cold a/c, got 54 mpg when I checked it @ 55 mph on the freeway; a/c off-no passengers. Built to U.S safety standards from 89-94. With 300,000+ miles on it, it still can run 75mph all day long with 4 people & a/c on..Doesn’t use a drop of oil between changes, AND, I can even tow a 13′ fiberglass Scamp camp-trailer 55 mph, a/c on..NOW, GM DROPPED THIS CAR, AND GOES BROKE…What’s wrong with this picture people?
