It is learnt that initially, the SBI will distribute the prospectus in 100 select branches. The booking is expected to start by the end of this month and the initial amount will be Rs 70,000 per car. The allotment of the first 100 cars will be made through a lucky draw.

Tata Motors is expected to produce 3,000 cars a month in the beginning, while it will accept orders for one lakh cars.

Bank said “The advantage of the SBI being the sole booking agent is that a large number of buyers may become a car loan borrower. We also create a huge database of customers to whom we can cross-sell some of our products later”. The SBI will also offer car loans at an interest of 10 per cent. This offer is valid till May 31 this year.

The bank has also offered an 8 % interest — fixed for one year — on home loans till April 30.

कंपनी के अध्यक्ष और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी मासाहिरो ताकेदागावा ने यहां कार पेश करने के बाद पत्रकारों को बताया कि यह कार हमारे कोर मॉडलों में से एक है और हमें तीसरी पीढ़ी की यह कार पेश करते हुए बहुत खुशी महसूस हो रही है। इसके लिए बुकिंग आज से शुरू हो गई है लेकिन इसका वितरण नवम्बर महीने से होगा। यह होंडा सिटी छह अलग-अलग रंगों में उपलब्ध होगी जिस पर दो साल की वारंटी है।

उल्लेखनीय है कि होंडा कंपनी ने इस वर्ष मई तक अलग-अलग श्रेणियों के दस लाख वाहनों की बिक्री की है। उन्होंने कहा है कि वैश्विक वित्तीय संकट के बावजूद उसके संभावित लाभ और बिक्री पर कोई खास असर नहीं पड़ेगा।

कंपनी के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी टाकियो फुकुई ने बताया कि दक्षिण पूर्वी एशियाई देशों (आसियान देशों) के साथ मुक्त व्यापार से कंपनी की तरफ से सस्ती दरों पर सामान भेजा जाएगा।

मारुति 800 अलग-अलग अवतार में भारतीय ग्राहकों को मिलती रही है। ए-स्टार , भारत में मारुति सुजूकी की एंट्री लेबल कार का फिप्थ जेनरेशन है। इसका नाम ऑल्टो की जगह कुछ और हो सकता है। ये कार अक्टूबर में भारत और यूरोप में एक साथ लांच होगी। भारतीय और विदेशी कस्टमर्स को देखते हुए फाइव डोर और थ्री डोर मॉडल में लाई जाएगी।

भारत में ये कार मारुति सुजूकी के मानेसर प्लांट में बनेगी। इसमें 1.0 लीटर का नया SOHC एल्यूमीडियम इंजन होगा। इसके हर सिलेंडर में चार वॉल्व होंगे। नए इंजन में फ्यूल एफिशिएंसी के साथ पॉल्यूशन नॉर्म का भी ध्यान रखा जाएगा।

महत्वपूर्ण बात ये है कि ऑल्टो की नई डिजाइन की वजह से ये कार बाहर से कॉम्पेक्ट दिखेगी पर अंदर इसमें काफी जगह होगी। इस कार को कंपनी पेरिस मोटर शो में पहली बार लोगों के सामने पेश करेगी। मारुति के ओसामू सुजूकी कहा है कि ए-स्टार सुजूकी फैमली में फिट बैठती है।

वैसे अभी ये साफ नहीं है कि इस कार के आने के बाद क्या कंपनी पुरानी ऑल्टो को बनाना बंद कर देगी। लेकिन अब तक की मारुति सूजूकी की स्ट्रेटजी को देखते हुए लगता है कि पुराने मॉडल जारी रहेंगे।
