दीपावली पूजा और लक्ष्मी पूजा के अवसर पर प्रमुख रूप से भगवान गणेश और देवी लक्ष्मी के तीन रूपों की पूजा की जाती है।

भगवान गणेश की पूजा किसी भी शुभ कार्य को आरंभ करने से पूर्व की जाती है क्योंकि ये विघ्नहर्ता यानी बाधाओं को हरने वाले हैं। देवी लक्ष्मी की पूजा उनके तीन रूपों

1. महालक्ष्मी (धन और संपत्ति की देवी),
2. महासरस्वती (शिक्षा और विद्या की देवी), और
3. महाकाली, कुबेर (धन खजाने के देवता)

में की की जाती है।

लक्ष्मी पूजा:

देवी लक्ष्मी भृगु की बेटी थी और जब सभी देवताओं को निर्वासित किया गया था तब इन्होंने दूध के समुद्र में जाकर आश्रय लिया था। समुद्र मंथन के समय लक्ष्मी जी का दुबारा जन्म हुआ। लक्ष्मी जी की सुंदरता को देखकर सभी देवता उन पर मोहित हो गये । भगवान शिव ने लक्ष्मी को अपनी पत्नी होने का दावा कर दिया लेकिन उन्होंने बाद में लक्ष्मी को भगवान विष्णु के हाथों में सौंप दिया जैसा कि श्री लक्ष्मीजी चाहती थी।

लक्ष्मी उजाला, सुंदरता, सौभाग्य और धन सम्पत्ति की दैवी हैं। लक्ष्मी जी की पूजा सफलता प्राप्त करने के लिए की जाती है। वे उन भक्तों के पास हमेशा नहीं रहती हैं जो आलसी है और धन संपत्ति के लिए जो उनकी पूजा करता है।
