पिछले दशक की शुरूआत कुख्यात डॉट कॉम ध्वंस से हुई थी यानी करोड़ों कमाने का ख्वाब लेकर शुरू हुई कई वेबसाइट्स बंद हो गई। करोड़ों डालर की कीमत वाले विशाल वेब साम्राज्य भरभराकर धरती पर आ गिरे। वेब पर तुरत-फुरत खरबपति बन जाने की मृग-मरीचिका का सामना जब वास्तविकता से हुआ तो कल्पनाएं कहीं टिक नहीं पाईं।

अलबत्ता, उसके बाद इंटरनेट और वेब की दुनिया ने अपने आपको संभाला और 2001 से 2010 की अवधि उनके परिपक्व होने की अवधि मानी जा सकती है। इसी दशक में दूरसंचार क्षेत्र भी परिपक्वता की और बढ़ा और विश्व के तकरीबन हर व्यक्ति तक पहुंचने में कामयाब रहा। पहले 2जी, फिर 3जी और अब 4जी तकनीकों ने छोटे से मोबाइल फोन को संचार और मनोरंजन की हैरतअंगेज क्षमता से लैस कर दिया। दुनिया में बची-खुची दूरियां भी खत्म हो गई। टेलीप्रजेंस, वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग, वेब कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग, वीडियो कॉलिंग और वॉयस ओवर इंटरनेट ने संचार क्षेत्र का नक्शा ही बदल दिया। ग्लोबल पोजीशनिंग सिस्टम (जीपीएस) के लोकप्रिय होने से दुनिया के चप्पे-चप्पे पर तकनीकी निगाहें गड़ गईं। गूगल अर्थ, गूगल मैप्स, माइक्रोसॉफ्ट वर्चुअल अर्थ, इसरो के भुवन और जीपीएस ने अनजाने इलाकों तक पहुंच आसान बना दी। हार्डवेयर की दुनिया में भी इस दशक में बहुत दिलचस्प और रचनात्मक प्रयोग हुए।

इसी दशक में कंप्यूटरों के एक से बढ़कर एक सुविधाजनक रूप सामने आए। लैपटॉप, टैबलेट और नेटबुक तो उसको इस्तेमाल करने के नए तौर-तरीके टच स्क्रीन, हस्त मुद्रा की पहचान आदि तरीके सामने आए। किंडल और आइपैड जैसे ई-बुक रीडर्स किताब पढ़ने के नए ढंग बने तो आई-पॉड ने हमारे दैनिक जीवन को संगीत से भर दिया। डेटा स्टोर करने वाली डिवाइसेज फ्लैश ड्राइव, हार्ड डिस्क आदि का आकार घटा और भरण क्षमताएं बढ़ती चली गईं। ऑप्टिकल डिस्क में पहले सीडी, फिर डीवीडी और अब ब्लू रे का जमाना आ गया। पिछले दशक में सर्च के जरिए शुरूआत करने वाला गूगल, ईमेल, चैट, वायस चैट, ऑनलाइन एप्लीकेशंस, मोबाइल फोन और ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम तक में अपनी जगह बनाने में कामयाब रहा।

सोशियल नेटवर्किंग ने आपसी संपर्क के तौर तरीके बदल दिए और भूले-बिसरे लोगो को फिर करीब ले आई। ब्लॉगिंग, यू-ट्यूब, स्काइप, सैकंड लाइफ, टि्वटर जैसी क्रांतिकारी अवधारणाएं लोकप्रियता के शिखर छूने में कामयाब रहीं। विंडोज लाइव, गूगल डॉक्स, क्रोम ओएस, जोहो आदि की बदौलत ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम और ऑफिस सॉफ्टवेयर डेस्कटॉप की सीमा तोड़कर इंटरनेट पर जा पहुंचे। वेब पर ही फाइल बनाइए, वहीं सहेजिए और निçश्ंचत हो जाइए। क्लाउड कंप्यूटिंग ने कंप्यूटिंग पावर को इंटरनेट के जरिए एक्सेस करना संभव बनाया। बस एक सामान्य सा कंप्यूटर लीजिए और क्लाउड कंप्यूटिंग से जुड़कर उस पर वह सब कर लीजिए जो छोटे-मोटे सुपर कंप्यूटर करते हैं।

उधर चीन ने दुनिया का सबसे तेज सुपर कंप्यूटर बनाया और बैक्टीरिया में डेटा स्टोर करने का कारनामा कर दिखाया। इंसान और रोबोट के बीच अंतर इतना घट गया है कि इराक युद्ध में रोबोट्स ने बाकायदा हथियारबंद सैनिकों की भूमिका निभाई। वे डांस करने लगे हैं, तो खानसामे की तरह खाना भी सर्व करने लगे। अगर अगले दस साल में कृत्रिम मस्तिष्क बना लेने का वैज्ञानिकों का दावा सच हो गया तो रोबोट क्या-क्या नहीं कर लेंगे, इसकी कल्पना करना भी असंभव है।

बदलाव तो खूब हुए लेकिन तकनीकी दुनिया में अगर कुछ सबसे महत्वपूर्ण था तो वह था इंटरनेट का हमारे दैनिक जीवन का हिस्सा बन जाना। बराक ओबामा जो युवको के भारी समर्थन से दुनिया के सबसे शक्तिशाली राष्ट्रपति बनने में सफल हुए लेकिन उनको ताकत का अहसास कराया जुलियन असांजे ने जिनकी विकीलीक्स वेबसाइट पर लीक किए गए दस्तावेजों के जलजले में दुनिया आज तक हिल रही है। यही वह दशक था जब यूनिकोड की लोकप्रियता बढ़ने से तकनीकी दुनिया में हिंदी से जुड़ी समस्याएं खत्म होती चली गई।

इंटरनेट की बदौलत हम इस दुनिया को एक ग्लोबल-गाँव कहने की हिम्मत कर पाते हैं। हालाँकि ऎसे हजारों लोग हैं जिन्होंने www के जनक टिम बर्नर्स-ली के सपने को साकार करने में अपना योगदान दिया। लेकिन यहाँ कुछ ऎसे लोगों की चर्चा कर रहे हैं, जिन्होंने पिछले मात्र 15 सालों में इंटरनेट-संसार को बहुत विशाल बनाया, उसे खास से आम तक पहुँचाया, शैलेश भारतवासी की रिपोर्ट।

45 साल के जिम्मी वेल्स ऑन लाइन ज्ञानकोष विकी पीडिया के जनक हैं। यह 262 भाषाओं में मौजूद है।
विकीपीडिया आज ज्ञान का भरोसेमंद जरिया है, जिसे आप खुद भी अपडेट कर सकते है ।
8 अगस्त 1966 को ऎलाबैमा, अमरीका में जन्मे जिम्मी वेल्स स्वयंसेवक समर्थित स्वतंत्र ज्ञानकोष विकीपीडिया के संस्थापक हैं। इस कम्पनी से होने वाली आय को इन लोगों ने वेब आधारित मुक्त ज्ञानकोष नुपीडिया के निर्माण में लगाया जो आगे चलकर स्वयंसेवक आधारित वेब-एनसाइक्लोपीडिया विकीपीडिया के रूप में जाना गया। विकीपीडिया एक बहुभाषी मुक्त, मुफ्त ज्ञानकोष है, जहाँ 1 करोड़ 60 लाख से अधिक पृष्ठ उपलब्ध हैं।

वेबसाइट को कोई भी पढ़ सकता है, नई सामग्री जोड़ सकता है या उपलब्ध सामग्री को संपादित कर सकता है। यह यथासम्भव निष्पक्ष दृष्टिकोण वाली सूचना प्रसारित करने के लिए कृतसंकल्प है। जिम्मी वेल्स और लैरी सेन्जर द्वारा 2001 में लॉन्च (शुरू) किए गए विकीपीडिया में दुनिया की 262 भाषाओं में आर्टिकल मौजूद हैं, इसमें 24 भाषाओं में 1 लाख से अधिक लेख, 81 भाषाओं में 1000 से अधिक लेख हंै। हिन्दी विकीपीडिया में 57 हजार से अधिक पृष्ठ हैं जो जुलाई 2003 में शुरू हुआ था। अंग्रेजी विकीपीडिया में सबसे अधिक (34 लाख से अधिक) लेख उपलब्ध हैं। आज इंटरनेट पर किसी भी विषय पर प्रामाणिक सूचना के लिए विकीपीडिया सबसे अधिक विश्वसनीय स्त्रोत है।

लैरी पेज और सर्गेइ ब्रिन (गूगल ज्ञानी)- शक है तो गूगल करो
लोकप्रिय सर्च इंजन गूगल के सूत्रधार । आज गूगल की जीमेल, ऑरकुट और ब्लॉगर जैसी सेचाऐं है ।
तमाम प्रतिद्वदियों के बावजूद गूगल का सर्च इंजन आज भी बेजोड है ।
अमरीका के लैरी पेज (26 मार्च 1973) और रूसी मूल के अमरीकी सर्गइ ब्रिन (21 अगस्त 1973) वही दो लोग हैं जिन्होंने 1998 में किराए पर एक गैरेज लेकर उसमें गूगल नाम के सर्च इंजन का बीज रोपा और ‘दुनिया भर की सूचनाओं को इकटा करने और उनको सर्वत्र उपलब्ध कराने’ के साझा सपने को साकार किया। ये दोनों सन् 1993 में स्टैन्डफोर्ड विश्वविद्यालय, अमरीका में एक दूसरे से मिले थे, जहाँ ये कम्प्यूटर विज्ञान में पीएचडी की पढ़ाई करने गए थे। अपने कमरे को महंगे कम्प्यूटर से भर दिया और श्रेष्ठतर सर्च-इंजन बनाने में जुट गए। मात्र 1700 अमरीकी डॉलर से इन्होंने गूगल कम्पनी की शुरूआत की थी, जो आज 200 अरब डॉलर से अधिक की कम्पनी बन चुकी है। आज दुनिया भर से लगभग 20000 लोग इस कम्पनी को संचालित करते हैं। गूगल मात्र 2 सालों में ही दुनिया का नं. सर्च-इंजन बन गया। दुनिया भर में गूगल के 1 मिलियन से अधिक डाटा-सर्वर हैं, जो प्रतिदिन 1 बिलियन से अधिक सर्च-परिणाम देते हैं।

नेट का सबसे चमकता सितारा । पचास करोड सदस्यों वाला फेसबुक एक समानान्तर दुनियां बन गया ।

14मई 1984 को न्यूयॉर्क, अमेरिका में जन्मे मार्क इलियट ‘जक’ जकरबर्ग दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी, सबसे अधिक लोकप्रिय सोशल नेटवकिंüग वेबसाइट फेसबुक के संस्थापक हैं। जकरबर्ग ने अपने स्कूल के दिनों में ही कम्प्यूटर-प्रोग्रेमिंग शुरू कर दी थी। 11 वर्ष का होते-होते ये कम्प्यूटर-प्रोग्रेमिंग और हैंकिंग के मास्टर हो गये थे। हार्वर्ड विश्वविद्यालय के अपने अपने कमरे से 4 फरवरी 2004 को जकरबर्ग ने फेसबुक लॉन्च किया। शुरू में जकरबर्ग ने अपने दोस्तों की फोटो को शेयर करने के लिए एक डायरेक्टरी बनाई जिसे उन्होंने ‘द फोटो एड्रेस बुक’ नाम दिया। इनके दोस्तों ने इसे ही संक्षिप्त में ‘द फेसबुक’ कहना पसंद किया और आज फेसबुक दुनिया भर के 50 करोड़ से अधिक प्रयोक्ताओं की विश्राम स्थली है। मतलब दुनिया का हर 12 में 1 व्यक्ति फेसबुक से जुड़ा है, वो चाहे सेलिब्रिटी हों या विद्यार्थी फेसबुक सबको पसंद है, जहाँ वे अपने दोस्तों से अपनी हर गतिविधि, अपना हर विचार, अपना सुख-दु:ख शेयर करते हैं। फेसबुक पर ऑनलाइन चैट की भी सुविधा है।

यू ट्यूब के जनक । ऑनलाइन वीडियो शेयरिण्ग की सबसे लोकप्रिय साइट । नेट का सबसे बडा चैनल ।
ओनलाइन वीडियो शेयरिंग वाली साइट यू ट्यूब बेहद लोकप्रिय है ।
चैद मेरिडिथ हुर्ली (1977) को दुनिया की सबसे अधिक प्रसिद्ध वीडियो-शेयरिंग वेबसाइट यू ट्यूब का संस्थापक माना जाता है। चैद ने अपने साथी स्टीव चेन के साथ मिलकर सन् 2005 में यू ट्यूब की संकल्पना रची और जून 2006 में अपने एक और साथी जावेद करीम के साथ मिलकर यू ट्यूब को लॉन्च किया। तब ये तीनों इंटरनेट पर धन-हस्तांतरण के लिए काम करने वाली सबसे बड़ी कम्पनी पेपाल में कार्यरत थे। यू ट्यूब प्रयोक्ता-उत्पन्न वीडियो-वेबसाइट है, जिसमें दुनिया भर से करोड़ों यूजर वीडियो अपलोड करते हैं। यू ट्यूब पर गाँव की नौटंकी से लेकर रियलटी शो तक देखे जा सकते हैं। यू ट्यूब पर दुनिया की लगभग हर भाषा में वीडियो उपलब्ध हैं। यू ट्यूब जितना ज्यादा वैश्विक है, उतना ही ज्यादा स्थानीय भी हैं। आज हर प्रयास, हर कम्पनी, हर संस्था यू ट्यूब को अपने काम को प्रचारित-प्रसारित करने का सबसे तेज जरिया मानती है।

Synopsis :
Virsa is the story of Nawaz Ali and Ranvir Singh Grewal and their families. Nawaz Ali hails from Lahore in Pakistan and Ranvir Singh Grewal belongs to a village, Kartarpur, in Punjab, India. About 20 years ago, both of them migrated to Sydney, Australia, in search of work, where they met and became the best of friends. Gradually, their hard work paid off. Ranvir opened an Indian Restaurant. It did well and he could manage to lead a comfortable life but he was not as successful as Ranvir.

Nawaz Ali was much grounded in his culture and values and this helped him to remain level headed and not get carried away by the comforts of life in Australia. He never lost sight of what was morally and ethically right and stood by his Asian Value.

On the other hand, Ranvir got carried away by his success. He felt that he was superior to the other Indians and Asians who were not as successful as he. He found merit in all things associated with the white folks- their lifestyle, their values and culture, their behavior and mannerisms- and looked down upon his Indian upbringing and values. He had no more use for ethics and morality. He became very conscious of his money, status and reputation. The difference in outlook and behavior drive the two friends apart until they reach a point where Ranvir stops talking to Nawaz. However, Nawaz still cares for his friend and tries to keep their friendship alive.

As Virsa answers these and other questions, it makes a strong statement about remaining true to one’s values, culture and upbringing even as we constantly adapt and adjust to the society around us. It explores ways of addressing the identity conflicts of immigrant Asians in westerns societies so that the succeeding generations can benefit from the best facets of both the cultures.

Synopsis:
CHASE is a edge of the seat thriller, involving raw action and drama.

The main players in this CHASE to get to the “truth” are Sohail Ansari, a man on the run. DIG Ranveer Tyagi who has vested interest in getting to the bottom of a murder in which Sohail is involved. Insp. Siddharth, right hand of the DIG who is monitoring Sohail’s actions. In this scenario enters Nupur Chauhan who is Involved with Sohail closely. The other players of this CHASE are Surabhee, Sohails love interest and industrialist Mr. Khanna to whom money is the solution of all problems. Added to this there is Anthony D’Costa who is also in search for the truth.

The hunt for Sohail and search for truth takes us through the streets of Mumbai in an exciting and thrilling CHASE. The truth has the potential of blowing up the entire political system apart. The line between truth and lies gets blurred. Who is the victim and who is the criminal? What you see may not be the truth. Do the criminals get caught? Does the victim come up the winner? Who is Sohail Ansari and what is the role of Anthony D’Costa?

This CHASE for the truth ends in nail biting, tense and unusual climax which will leave you spell bound.

Synopsis:
The basic content of this film is all about a revolutionary movement started by the victims of our stereotype education system. A disheartened IT professor called Tariq Siddhiqi, (Anupam kher) who is basically disappointed with the orthodox education system and Devang Tripathi (Ashish Vidyarthi) an alcoholic professor who is thrown out from Mumbai University for his abstract methodology for teaching and Arjun Sheghal, (Ankur Khanna) an under achieving student who disenchants the traditional education system as he doesn’t believe in grading system and Priyanka (Arshi) who wants to break through the typical parental pressure of our society to accomplish her passion as a super model. Finally as they all posses same perception towards our stereotype education system, they decide to go against to it and they form an abstract pattern of education system to encourage the failure students of our society. Even you are invited to join the revolutionary movement to change the education system of our country.

Synopsis:
Kuchh Kariye is the story of Rishi (Sukhwinder Singh), a simple and honest musician in love with Alpna (Shriya), who is forced by the people of his city to leave his home town and move to Mumbai. Here he meets two other boys Javed Khan (Vikrum Kumar) and Shani (Rufy Khan) who have also come to Mumbai in search of their destiny and fortune.

Together, they realise, that all of them share same passion for films. They are also an idealistic lot and want to bring a change in the society. They believe that a positive thought can change the course of life. If one is able to rise above the personal selfish needs, one can bring a change is what they believe in. With stroke of luck, they do begin their film. They meet Roza (Khuahhish) and Pappu Halva (Mustaque Khan) and with her support their plans start falling in place. However, destiny has planned something else. There is terror and loss. Rishi is overcome with grief and disillusion. Will he choose the right path?

Kuchh Kariye deals with the current socio political scenario. It’s a social film dealing with certain contemporary and relevant issues. It’s journey of a man meeting his destiny and coming to terms with his own self.

Will Rishi and his friends manage to achieve their goal? Will Rishi be able to change the thinking of law and outlaws? Does disillusion wait for Rishi at the end of the journey?
